Privacy Notice
This notice explains what FindNChop collects, why we use it, who may process it, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.

- North Legon, Accra, Ghana (GhanaPost GPS: GE-215-0341)
- Privacy contact
- [email protected]
- Ghana DPC registration

2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, a one-way password hash or Google account identifier, verification status, and an optional phone number.
- Your choices: saved meals and restaurants, likes, dislikes, ratings, correction submissions, food and dietary preferences, budget and chosen area.
- Optional activity: recent views, searches and recommendation signals only when you enable the corresponding profile choices.
- Location: a friendly area selected by you or inferred approximately. Precise browser coordinates are used only after your explicit request to find the nearest known area and are not stored by FindNChop.
- Technical data: opaque session identifiers and bounded security or reliability logs. FindNChop does not intentionally log passwords, raw cookies, authentication tokens or request bodies.
3. Why we use it
Account and security data are used to create and protect your account, provide requested features, verify sensitive actions, respond to corrections, and meet legal and security obligations. Optional history and personalisation data are used only when you turn those features on. FindNChop does not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
You can browse public restaurant information without creating an account. Name, email and acceptance of the current terms are required to create an account; optional profile fields and preference choices may be left blank or disabled.
4. Sharing and processors
Personal data may be processed by restricted infrastructure, database, storage, transactional-email and authentication providers acting for FindNChop. If you choose a restaurant contact action, the information you enter and the generated reference are sent through WhatsApp under WhatsApp’s own terms. We may disclose information where required by Ghanaian law or to protect users and the service.
Some service providers may process data outside Ghana. FindNChop requires appropriate confidentiality, security and data-processing safeguards before enabling a provider for personal data.
5. Retention
Account information and saved choices are kept while your account is active, unless a longer period is required for a lawful purpose. Optional linked activity and recommendation records are de-identified or deleted after 365 days. Verification and reset tokens expire automatically; sessions expire after 30 days, or up to 365 days when you choose to stay signed in.
Deleting your account removes its active personal data and disconnects records that must remain as non-identifying catalogue, correction, security or operational evidence. Restricted backup copies age out under the applicable recovery schedule and are not used for ordinary processing.
6. Your rights and controls
You may request access to, correction of, or cessation of applicable processing of your personal data. Your profile lets you download a copy, edit profile information, disable optional history and personalisation, clear history, or delete the account. You may also contact the privacy address above. We will verify requests before disclosing or changing account data.
You may complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
7. Security and incidents
FindNChop uses access controls, hashed credentials and tokens, encrypted HTTPS transport, restricted database access, origin checks, data minimisation and operational monitoring. No system is risk-free. If a qualifying unauthorised access or acquisition occurs, FindNChop will investigate, restore integrity, and make required notifications.
8. Cookies and changes
FindNChop uses first-party cookies for essential guest and signed-in sessions and for a location-area preference. They are not advertising cookies. We will publish a new version and effective date when this notice materially changes. A new acknowledgement may be required where appropriate.
